Urgent Care Now is looking for a part-time Advanced Practice Provider (APP) and a Medical Assistant (MA) to join our team at 60 Barrett Drive, Webster, NY.

Advanced Practice Provider (APP) — Part-time

This is a part-time position. Under general direction from clinic leadership, provide evaluation and treatment to urgent care patients. Deliver high-quality, patient-centered care by assessing, diagnosing, treating, and stabilizing patients with acute and episodic conditions across the lifespan.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate, diagnose, and treat acute and select chronic conditions for pediatric through geriatric patients
  • Perform comprehensive assessments, including history, physical examination, and documentation
  • Order, perform, and interpret diagnostic tests, including laboratory studies, ECGs, and radiographic imaging
  • Develop and implement treatment plans; prescribe medications in accordance with New York State regulations and organizational policy
  • Perform approved minor procedures, including wound care, suturing, splinting/casting, injections, immunizations, and infection management
  • Provide patient education related to diagnosis, treatment, follow-up care, and health maintenance
  • Consult and collaborate with supervising or collaborating physicians as clinically indicated
  • Participate in occupational medicine services as assigned, including physical examinations, immunizations, and testing
  • Maintain required licensure, certifications, continuing education, and clinical competencies
  • Maintain a clean, organized, professional work environment and comply with clinical protocols, safety standards, and HIPAA regulations

Medical Assistant (MA)

Under general direction from nursing leadership, perform clinical tasks in support of patient care, including technical, procedural, and information-system duties that affect patient comfort, care, and safety. Nursing students interested in urgent care experience are welcome to apply.

Responsibilities

  • Room patients; obtain vital signs; document intake symptoms and medical histories
  • Assist nurses and providers with examinations, procedures, and treatments
  • Perform point-of-care testing (for example urine, strep, flu, COVID, RSV, and glucose) as directed
  • Prepare, clean, and turn over exam rooms to ensure readiness for patient care
  • Protect the confidentiality of sensitive information
  • Assist with basic clinical procedures including EKGs, splinting, wound care setup, and specimen collection
  • Demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide age-appropriate care
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record
  • Work self-directed and adapt quickly to variable patient volume and urgent care conditions
  • Comply with clinical protocols, safety standards, and HIPAA regulations; help maintain a clean, organized clinical environment
